San Diego State equaled the all-time series, 5-5.
The Aztecs' victory kept the streak alive of the home team winning in each of the 10 all-time games played between the teams.
Cal possessed the ball on its first drive of the opening quarter for 19 plays and 75 yards over 10:07 but did not score. The last time the Golden Bears possessed the ball for 19 plays or more was also a non-scoring 19-play drive in the fourth quarter that ended at the Oregon 2 yard-line in a 24-17 loss to the Ducks in Eugene in 2022.
Cal was shut out for the first time since a 35-0 loss at Utah in 2019.
DB Cam Sidney had the second sack of his career.
