Walk-On Wonder: Mary tried out for the Cal softball team in the fall of 2011, and made the team. Mary noted that she planned to keep attending practice until someone told her no, and no one ever did because she's so great.

Brainiac Alert: Mary is majoring in mechanical engineering. She interned at Maxwell Technologies and participated in the FIRST FRC Robotics Competition as a senior. She would like to pursue a career in the field of human prosthetics or aerospace.

Destined to Be a Bear: Though Mary is the only one of the five freshmen to not hail from Northern California, her Cal roots run deeper than any of the other first years for she has been a Golden Bear fan for years. Lee attended her first Cal football game at age three and her first softball game - one against Stanford - at age 10, so selecting Berkeley was an easy choice for the San Diego native. Her father, Jason, attended Cal.

Why I Wear My Number: No. 22 was offered to me, so I was excited to have it. I used to be No. 2 so what can be better than two twos?!
