Biography

Geraedts, a member of the Dutch national team, begins her fourth year at Cal after gaining valuable experience over the last three seasons...spent the summer of 2006 playing for the Dutch national team and will benefit from playing against international competition...can play power forward and center...has a good touch out to about 15 feet...quick learner who has a great work ethic...a finesse player with excellent fundamentals...talented passer out of the post.

As a junior in 2005-06: Saw limited action as a junior...played in seven games...saw a season-high 15 minutes of playing time in Cal's win over Columbia, posting four points and two rebounds...competed for 10 minutes in the victory over South Carolina State, grabbing one rebound and dishing off an assist...corralled two boards in the road win over San Jose State...swatted her only block of the season and sixth of her career at Arizona...averaged 0.6 points and 0.9 rebounds per game...made her only two free throws of the year vs. Columbia.

As a sophomore in 2004-05: Played in 13 games, averaging 2.8 points and 1.1 rebounds per game, which about doubled the output of her rookie season...converted 53.1 percent of her field goals...posted a career-high 10 points at Washington Jan. 29 in a career-best 20 minutes of playing time...added a career-high five rebounds in Cal's win over Tennessee Tech...played at least 10 minutes in four games...missed the last four games of the season with plantar fasciitis.

As a freshman in 2003-04: Saw action in 26 games as a reserve...averaged 1.5 points and 0.5 rebounds per game...contributed four blocks and two steals...shot 41.7 percent from the floor...her best outings came at home against both UCLA (eight points, three rebounds) and Oregon (seven points, one rebound)...had a then-career-high three boards in Cal's win over Lehigh...played a then-career-high 19 minutes in Cal's Pac-10 season-opening win over No. 22 Oregon Dec. 27...saw action in 17 minutes against UCLA Feb. 19.

 

International Experience: At one point, was the youngest member of the Dutch national team...competed in the European Championships qualification tournament in Madeira, Portugal...with the Dutch national team, also played against college teams from the United States, including the University of San Francisco...attended a basketball camp in the United States near Philadelphia...won division titles while playing with three amateur European teams - B.C. Aeternitas, P.S.V. Almonte (first division in The Netherlands for under-20 athletes) and B.C. Houthalen 2000 (second division in Belgium).

 

High School: Attended Philips van Horne S.G. in Weert.

 

Personal: Emmelie Geraedts was born Feb. 20, 1985, in Weert, The Netherlands...American favorites include the movie Remember the Titans and the television shows Friends and ER...parents are Tom and Wilhelmin Geraedts...has an older brother, Dick, and an older sister, Steffie...enjoys listening to music...sociology major.
