James is in his first year as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Cal. Prior to Cal, he worked as a Graduate Assistant for Media Relations at Santa Clara overseeing their women's volleyball, beach volleyball, and water polo programs.Â
Prior to Santa Clara, James graduated from UC Irvine with bachelors degree in Business Economics and Literary Journalism. During his time at UCI, James was a Marketing Intern for UC Irvine Athletics as well as a student reporter for the school newspaper, The New University, for all four years of his college career, becoming the main men's basketball beat writer for his junior and senior year. At Irvine, James also ran the UC Irvine Sports Business Association and worked as a Marketing and PR Specialist for a local professional soccer team, Orange County Soccer Club.
James is originally from Gilbert, Ariz. and is an avid Arizona sports fan. He currently resides in San Francisco, with his girlfriend.
