BERKELEY - The Cal Football team will return to action on Saturday at the Rose Bowl as they take on UCLA at 7:30 p.m. PT. The matchup between the two UC system schools will be broadcast live on FS1 as the Bears will look to build off the momentum forged from their, 24-20, win over rival Stanford. The Bears will be playing back-to-back road games for the first time this year, but will continue their November slate that doesn't see the Bears leave the state of California.
CAL TAKES ON BRUINS IN ROSE BOWL
- UCLA leads the all-time series 55-33-1.
- Since the series started in 1933 the two flagship schools of the UC System have played every single season.
- Cal quarterback
Devon Modster attended UCLA from 2016-2018. He saw action in five games during the 2017 season and started the the team's bowl game vs. Kansas State, where he went 21-34 for 295 yards and two touchdowns.
- Modster played for the Bruins against Cal, completing 14-18 passes for 191 yards as he entered in the second half for an injured Josh Rosen and led the Bruins to a 30-27 victory.

OFFENSE TAKING CARE OF THE BALL, CONVERTING IN RED ZONE
- Cal did not turn the ball over vs. Washington or North Texas to mark the first time the Bears recorded back-to-back zero turnover games since the final two games of the 2016 season.
- The Bears have 0 or 1 turnovers in eight of 11 games in 2019, they did that only four times in 2018.
- Cal is 22-of-26 in converting in the red zone, scoring 17 touchdowns and hitting five field goals, including the game-winning 17-yard field goal by

GARBERS MOVES TO 5-0 IN GAMES HE HAS COMPLETED THIS YEAR

Chase Garbers has led the Bears to a 11-6 record as the starting quarterback, but the Bears are 11-2 in games where Garbers has played more than half the game, including 5-0 this year.
- Garbers had a career-high in passing yards (357), touchdowns (4) and completions (23) vs. Ole Miss.
- Garbers had 285 yards passing, 72 yards rushing and two total touchdowns vs. Stanford. He has led the team to game-winning scores on their final drive at Washington and vs. Stanford.

Devon Modster went 16-24 for 230 yards while adding 43 yards rushing and scoring four total touchdowns vs. Washington State.
- Modster started his first game at Cal on the road at Oregon and went 17-of-34 for 190 yards and a touchdown. Prior to that, Modster's last start was in the 2017 Cactus Bowl vs. Kansas State.
- Modster was the first Bears' backup QB to start a game due to injury in 79 games, since
Allan Bridgford started the final four games of 2012 to replace Zach Maynard.
- Modster took over for Josh Rosen in the second half of UCLA's game vs. Cal and led UCLA to a 30-27 victory at the Rose Bowl. He completed 14-18 passes for 191 yards in that game.

Nikko Remigio had nine catches for 157 yards, the first person to have 150+ yards receiving since 2017 and the most in the Big Game since Geoff McArthur had 245 yards in 2003.

Kekoa Crawford debuted with a notable performace against UC Davis, cathcing three passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns. He added a team-best 48 yards receiving including a crucial 27-yard reception to set up the game-winning FG at Washington, but has missed five games this year.

- Eight different Bears have caught touchdown passes this year.
- The Bears have had six different players lead the team in receptions and five different pace the squad in receiving yards through 11 games.
DEFENSIVE LOCK DOWN
- Cal held 14 straight opponents under 25 points prior to the game vs. Utah. That tied for the ninth-longest streak in the Pac-12 since 1980.
- It was the longest streak by a Cal defense since 1950.
- The Bears have been stingy inside the red zone, holding teams to only 23 touchdowns in 42 red zone appearances, good for a 54.7% rate of touchdowns allowed.

- Davis was named second-team Midseason All-American by both The Athletic and Athlon Sports and is one of three finalists for the Burlsworth Trophy.
- Davis has forced and recovered two fumbles each, he is tied for 19th in the FBS and fourth in the Pac-12 in fumble recoveries. He ranks third in fumble recoveries in the conference.

Kuony Deng is 17th in the country and is third in the Pac-12 in total tackles per game (9.5) and is and is seventh in the Pac-12 in solo tackles per game (4.6). He has also tallied 3.0 sacks, 7.5 TFLs and four pass breakups.
- Deng has seven games with 8+ tackles and four games with 11+ tackles. He has recorded at least 1.0 TFL in six games.
- Deng and Weaver are the top ranked tackling duo in the country with 24.4 tackles per game, more than any other duo by 2.1 tackles per game. The next best duo is Akron's John Lako and Bubba Arslanian who average 22.3 tackles per game.
- The duo has combined for 268 tackles through 11 games and is on pace (316.7) to break the school record for combined tackles in a 13-game season, set in 2018 by Weaver and
