Bears Set To Compete At Pan Am Games

Cal Student-Athletes Represented In A Variety Of Sports

BERKELEY – Several current and past Cal student-athletes will compete next week in the 2019 Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru.

Rising senior Andy Song (Mexico), rising junior Daniel Carr (USA) and alums Nathan Adrian (USA), Tom Shields (USA) and Long Gutierrez (Mexico) will compete in the men's swimming competition.  Alumnus Madison Kennedy will represent Team USA on the women's side.

The Bears will be well-represented in the water polo event. Former men's stars Luca Cupido and Johnny Hooper will play for the United States while Cal assistant coach Jeff Tyrrell will serve on the Team USA's coaching staff. On the women's side, rising senior Emma Wright and alums Kindred Paul and Kelly McKee will compete for Team Canada.

In softball, former Cal All-American Valerie Arioto will represent the United States while recently graduated pitcher Kamalani Dung will play for Puerto Rico. Former Golden Bear start Jazmyn Jackson is an alternate for the U.S. team.

Rising junior Camryn Rogers, the 2019 NCAA hammer throw champion, will compete for Team Canada.
