The Lead: After a 4-0 start to begin the 2026 spring season, the California men's tennis team will host three ranked opponents this weekend in Berkeley. The Golden Bears are set to host UCF, Oklahoma and USC for ITA Kickoff Weekend.

ITA Kickoff Weekend is a national tournament happening at select host schools around the country. This weekend marks the beginning rounds of the tournament with the sole winner in each host site earning a spot in next month's ITA Indoor Championship in Waco, Texas.

No. 12 UCF and No. 21 USC will battle each other in the first match of the day. Afterwards, No. 15 Cal and No. 17 Oklahoma will face one another. On Saturday, the winners of the two Friday matches will play for a spot in Waco and the two losers will play in a consolation match.

• Cal enters the weekend ranked No. 15.

• The Bears have won the doubles point in all four of its matches so far.

• In singles play, the Bears have tallied a 19-3 record through four matches.

• In the fall, Cal had three student-athletes at the NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships at the UTSA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.

• Tiago Silva and Timofey Stepanov ended the fall ranked No. 55 in doubles play.

• Alex Aney, Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutynski, Bernardo Munk Mesa and Timofey Stepanov returned to Berkeley, while Tiago Silva (Pacific), Lenn Luemkemann (Oregon) and Paris Pouatcha (Oregon) joined as transfers. Winston Lee, Andrea Meduri and Leonardo Cattaneo join the squad as the team's three freshmen.
