Cal Athletics Announces External Relations Leadership Appointments And Promotions
Brooks, Edgren, Jackson, Tafolla-Voetsch Have Over 30 Years Combined Experience At Cal
As Cal Athletics prepares for the 2026–27 season, Co-Directors of Athletics

Jenny Simon-O'Neill have announced several appointments and promotions within the External Relations units. Â
Beth Tafolla-Voetsch.has been elevated to Deputy Athletics Director, External Relations, where she will continue to lead Cal Athletics' External Relations division, aligning strategy, philanthropy, revenue generation and storytelling to advance the department's competitive excellence. A key member of Cal Athletics' senior leadership team, Tafolla-Voetsch has played an instrumental role in the department's recent success, helping drive significant growth in revenue, fan engagement, philanthropic support and brand storytelling. In her expanded role, she will continue to unify the department's external-facing efforts, strengthen the brand, deepen connections with alumni, fans and donors, and generate the resources necessary to sustain championship success.
Tafolla-Voetsch's efforts will be aided by Senior Associate Athletics Director, Development and Chief Growth Officer,
Adam Brooks. He will also oversee Cal football as its sport administrator, working closely with General Manager Ron Rivera and Travers Family Head Football Coach Tosh Lupoi to position the program for success. Throughout his six-year tenure at Cal Athletics, Brooks has played an instrumental part in the department's fundraising efforts, building meaningful relationships with donors and supporters. The expanded role will allow Brooks to continue in a leadership position with the Cal Athletics Fund while developing and executing Cal's approach to its Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) program and revenue sharing.
"We are excited to elevate Beth and Adam into these new roles," Cal General Manager and Football Athletics Director Ron Rivera said. "They are both keenly aware of what it will take to move forward in the changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics, and their knowledge, insights and leadership are invaluable to our football program and the rest of our department."
Six-year Cal Athletics Fund veteran
Anthonia Edgren has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director, Deputy Chief Development Officer. Her new role will involve leading the day-to-day operations of the department's 25-person Cal Athletics Fund team and providing strategic direction. Edgren will continue to focus on meaningfully engaging the Cal family and inspiring the generosity of its alumni, donors and supporters to create transformational opportunities for Cal's student-athletes and programs.
Cal Athletics' ticketing and revenue operations will now be overseen by
Ebony Jackson, who has been promoted to Associate Athletics Director, Revenue & Ticket Strategy. Having been a part of Cal Athletics for five years, Jackson's leadership and this expanded role will unite all ticket sales, service, premium seating and ticket operations under one unified leadership structure, creating a smoother customer journey and enhancing the fan experience while targeting the goals of increased attendance, deeper fan engagement and maximizing revenue generation.
