Fall 2024: Played in 16 games, starting 13…was Cal’s fourth-leading scorer with seven points from three goals and one assist…had a breakout game against Dominican, netting two goals and setting up another in a 5-0 rout of the Penguins…Ortiz scored the gamewinning goal in the ACC Championship first round against North Carolina, converting Cal’s first penalty kick of the season to seal a 2-1 victory and send the Bears to the quarterfinals.
 
Personal/Previous: Legal studies major…played at Cerritos College before Cal…was named the 2022 South Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year while with Cerritos College…posted eight assists and two goals, including the winner in the 2022 SCC title game...in 2021, Ortiz played for East Los Angeles College, making 10 starts in 15 games played…he teamed with his brother Raul at both Cerritos and East Los Angeles.
