After competing for the past five years as one of Tony Sandoval's runners, Abby Parker will return to Cal this fall as a second-year assistant coach.
In 2003, Parker was the second-fastest runner for Cal at the Pac-10 championships and the NCAA west regional. She was also an honorable mention for Pac-10 All-Academic in 2003. The year before, Parker once again posted second-best performances for the Bears at the Pac-10 championships and at the NCAA west regional.
She competed on the track team as well during her tenure at Berkeley. In 2005, Parker posted a career-best 5000m indoor time of 17:14.44 at the Husky Classic.
The second-team Pac-10 All-Academic choice also clocked Cal's fastest time of the 2004 season in the 3000mSC (10:48.10).
Parker graduated from Cal in 2006 with a degree in integrative biology.
