BERKELEY, CA - Berkeley, CA - The No. 5 California women's swimming team (5-1) fell to No. 2 Arizona (7-1), 132-111, in a tight 25-meter dual meet Friday afternoon at the Spieker Aquatics Complex.
The Bears started off the meet with a victory in the 400-meter medley relay and then battled back and forth with the talented Wildcats. Senior Elli Overton and sophomore Joscelin Yeo were double winners for the Bears, with Overton winning the 200-meter IM (2:15.80) and 200-meter fly (2:13.11). Yeo captured the 200-meter free (2:00.95) and 100-meter free (55.84).
Senior Trina Jackson won two events for Arizona, placing first in the 800-meter free and 400-meter free.
Cal will next host No. 18 Arizona State Jan. 22 at 1 p.m. at Spieker Aquatics Complex.
