SAN FRANCISCO - In a match delayed well into the night, the Cal men's tennis team defeated Georgia Tech, 5-1, Friday at the San Francisco Tennis Club.
Due to Friday's rain in the Bay Area, the match didn't start until 9 p.m. and was moved indoors at the San Francisco facility.
Despite the shift in both place and time, the Bears improved to 3-0 on the year with an impressive win. At No. 1 singles, John Paul Fruttero beat Tech's Roman Coirault, 7-6, 6-2. The Bears also won at the 3-6 positions in singles. Cal's only loss came at No. 2, where Tech's Roger Anderson defeated Erik Dmytruk, 7-6, 4-6, 6-1.
