Bears Beat San Jose State on the Road

SAN JOSE - The 6-6 Cal Gymnastics team came together with a record breaking performance in a 195.325-192.800 win over San Jose State. They not only broke the all-time team total record, but they recorded team season highs on vault, bars and floor.

Pari Olver took the all-around competition with the best performance of her career, a total of 39.300. Olver earned career record scores on vault (9.700), bars (9.950) and floor (9.875). Her beam score of 9.775 was only .025 away from her season and career mark. Olver placed first on bars and third on both beam and floor.

Sophomore Lindsay Baker also had her best career performance, placing second in the all-around competition scoring 9.800 on vault, beam and bars and 9.775 on floor. Baker tied for first with Janet McKnight on vault and placed second beam.

Leila Khoury placed third in the all-around with a total of 38.725 points. She tied for third on vault, placed second on bars, and won the floor exercise with a career best 9.950.

The Bears return home for their last meet of the season this Friday when they host San Jose State, Sacramento State and Cal State Fullerton at Haas Pavilion at 7:30 p.m.
