BERKELEY - The Women's gymnastics team came in second place in a three-way meet against Arizona and Southern Utah. Arizona took the meet on its home floor scoring a season high team total of 194.250.
Cal finished a close second with its best score of the season, 193.225, while Southern Utah placed third and scored 191.650 points for the night.
Arizona's Randi Liljenquist won the all-around competition after winning both the balance beam (9.925) and the floor exercise (9.925), placing second on the uneven bars (9.800) and tying for fourth on vault (9.700) for a total of 39.350.
Leila Khoury led the Bears with a win on the vault (9.750), a fourth-place tie with teammate Genine Ishino on the balance beam (9.725), and a third-place finish on the floor exercise (9.850). Khoury tied with Kara Fye of Arizona for second place in the all-around competition (38.975).
Other Bears scoring points were Carrie Kreifels who placed second in the balance beam (9.825) and Pari Olver, who took two fourth place spots on the floor (9.825) and in the all-around competition (38.775).
