FRESNO, Calif. - The California Golden Bears lost their third straight match Saturday afternoon, losing to No. 13 Fresno State, 5-2 at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center in Fresno, Calif.

In singles, Erik Dmytruk made his second appearance at the No. 1 slot a memorable one as he downed Fresno's top ranked player, No. 25 Oliver Le Jeune, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4. The loss was Le Jeune's first of the dual match season. With the win Dmytruk improves his overall record to a team-leading 11-5 on the year. Sophomore Chris Lewis, was the only other Cal player victorious as he defeated Fresno's Nick Fustar, 6-4, 6-1. The match was only Lewis' second dual match of the year, improving his dual match record to 2-0.

In doubles play Cal lost the doubles point with losses coming on courts No. 1 and No. 2. Cal's twenty-fourth ranked duo of Erik Dmytruk and Scott Kintz lost only their fifth dual match of the year at the No. 1 slot, losing to Fresno's Peter Luczak and David Mullins, 9-7. The team of John Paul Fruttero and David Tzou were the only Cal team to capture a win, 8-5 over Fresno's Rob Cheyne and Andy Scorteanu. The win puts them undefeated at 2-0 on the year.

The Bears will be back in action on Tues., March 21 when they host Brigham Young University at 1:30 p.m. at the Hellman Tennis Center in Berkeley.
