BERKELEY, CA - The No.1 ranked University of California women's water polo team (14-2) triumphed over No. 11 ranked Princeton (9-0), 13-6, Thursday at Spieker Aquatics Complex.

Cal was led by senior Brooke Spittler, junior Beth Irwin and sophomore Breena Fleener with three goals apiece. Other scorers for the Bears included sophomore Shelly Johnston with two goals and senior Colette Glinkowski and freshman Megan Ricks with one goal apiece.

Princeton was paced by freshman Adele McCarthy's three goals, and two goals from sophomore Cassie Nichols and a goal from junior Katherine Kixmiller. The Bears led the whole match with Cal leading 5-0 after the first period, 6-1 at the half and 10-3 after the third period.

The Bears will host the No.10 ranked Long Beach State 49ers Friday, Mar. 17 at Spieker Aquatics Complex.
