No. 1 Cal Women's Water Polo Tops No. 4 USC, 7-6 in Overtime

BERKELEY, CA - The No.1 ranked University of California women's water polo team (17-2) outscored No. 4 ranked USC (12-6), 7-6 in overtime, Friday afternoon at Spieker Aquatics Complex.

Cal was led by senior driver Colette Glinkowski's four goals. Sophomore Brenna Fleener added two goals and Beth Irwin also scored for the Bears. Junior goalie Fana Fuqua had an impressive 12 saves.

Five different players scored for USC, led by Katrin Dierolf with two goals, and Sandra Milicev, Aniko Pelle, Nina Wengst, Christine Zador had a goal apiece. Trojan goalie Suzannah Johnson had eight saves.

The contest was close the whole contest as the match was 0-0 at the end of the first period, 2-2 at the half, 4-4 at the end of the third period and 5-5 a the end of regulation. Finally, Cal was able to outscore the Trojans, 2-1, in overtime.
