No. 1 Ranked Cal Women's Water Polo Defeats No. 2 Stanford, 6-3

STANFORD, CA - The No. 1 ranked Cal women's water polo team defeated No. 2 ranked Stanford, 6-3, Sunday at deGuerre Pool on the Stanford campus. The Bears have now won 14 matches in a row and are 18-2 overall and 6-0 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. The Cardinal fall to 14-4 and 5-1 in MPSF. Stanford is 0-3 against the Golden Bears this season.

Cal was led by two goals from senior driver Colette Glinkowski. Beth Irwin, Cristen Razzari, Kaliya Young and Julia Cesnik also scored for the Bears. Junior goalie Fana Fuqua had 14 saves.

Cal took the lead early in the game, scoring two goals to Stanford's one after the first period. The Cardinal never caught up, scoring only two more goals in the match to Cal's four.

The Bears will next host Hawaii, Wednesday, Mar. 29 at Spieker Aquatics Complex, before traveling to UCLA Mar. 31 and UC Santa Barbara Apr. 1.
