BERKELEY - The Bears took third place in their last home meet of the season against Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Sacramento and San Jose State. Fullerton won the meet with a score of 194.425, Sacramento took second with 194.275. Cal finished third with 194.275 and San Jose State placed fourth with 191.525.
Cal Gymnastics took time out at the start of the meet to honor seniors Leila Khoury and Bridgett Coates, who were presented with yellow roses. Khoury tied for first on vault (9.775) with Kelly Mathiasen of Fullerton, was third on beam (9.825) and placed second in the all-around competition behind Toni Peterson of Sacramento. Coates scored a 9.700 on the floor exercise.
Other Bears that performed well were Lindsay Baker who placed third on vault (9.750) and Pari Olver, who tied for second on bars (9.875) and took third on floor (9.800).
The Bears have their last regular season meet next weekend in Idaho when they take on Boise State and Seattle Pacific at 7:30 p.m.
