Berkeley, Calif. - The fourth-ranked Cal women's tennis team won their second match in two days this afternoon, defeating No. 20 Arizona, 8-0 at Hellman Tennis Center in Berkeley. This is the Bears second victory over the Wildcats this season and with the win improves their record to 16-5 overall and 5-1 in Pac-10 play.

Although the Bears swept all six singles matches, they found themselves in quite a fight with five of six matches going to three sets. Senior Karoline Borgersen was the only Cal player to escape in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4 over Michelle Gough on court three. After falling behind 5-2 in the third set, freshman Morisa Yang pulled off the most impressive victory of the day rallying back to defeat Arizona's Uzma Kahn, 6-3, 1-6, 7-6(6) in the No. 4 spot. Cal senior Jenny Lee also notched her first dual match victory of the year, defeating Joanna Buczkowska, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 on court six.

The Bears continued their sweep in doubles, taking both matches for the 8-0 victory. No doubles match was played in the No. 3 spot as Arizona was forced to default due to injury. The third-ranked duo of Claire Curran and Amy Jensen showed why they are one of the best doubles teams in the nation, crushing Arizona's Uzma Kahn and Laresa Marino, 8-1. Fifth-ranked Karoline Borgersen and Anita Kurimay picked up their 20th win of the year, downing Arizona's tenth-ranked, Lindsey Blau Michelle Gough, 8-6.

The Bears will be back in action on April 21st when they host UCLA in a 1:30 match at Hellman Tennis Center in Berkeley.
