The No. 2 ranked California women's water polo team (24-3) will face Bay Area rival Stanford for the 2000 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Water Polo Championship Sunday, April 9, at 1:00 p.m. at the Aquatics Center on the San Jose State campus. Each school finished 4-0 in MPSF pool play.
California clinched its bracket with a 5-4 victory over USC. Five different Golden Bears scored in the victory. Earlier in the day, Cal defeated Long Beach State, 11-6. Senior driver Colette Glinkowksi led Cal with four goals.
Stanford advanced to the championship match with a 7-6 victory over UCLA in the final match of the day. Last season, Cal defeated USC, 3-2, in the MPSF title match.
