Cal made a late push on the high bar to defeat visiting Stanford in a nail bitter at Haas Pavilion Friday night, ultimately coming back to win, 206.350-206.050. Although the score was close, the Bears won their 31st consecutive dual match.

US National Gymnastics Team member Cody Moore, who turned in a solid 53.100 in the all-around, once again paced the competition. Moore performed well in all six events, but was particularly impressive on the horizontal bar (9.400) and vault (9.050). Sophomore David Eaton, who finished third in the all-around (52.750), also turned in a clutch performance on the horizontal bar to complete Cal's late push, clocking in with a 9.300 mark.

The Bears lost freshman Graham Ackerman to an injury during warm-ups, and were consequently forced to compete with four gymnasts in most events. Senior Tom Kutz turned in another solid performance in the all-around, finishing with a 49.050 score.

Stanford's top performers was Dave Durante (52.900) and Dan Gill (50.35).
