EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Luke Jackson scored 17 points and Ian Crosswhite had 16 as Oregon held off California 68-56 on Thursday.

Jackson scored six of his points in the final three minutes, after the Golden Bears had trimmed a 23-point deficit to six.

The win was the Oregon's eighth straight at McArthur Court and its 36th in the last 38 games.

James Davis added 13 points for the Ducks (10-5, 5-3 Pacific-10).

California (8-9, 4-4) was led by freshman forward Marquise Kately, whose 17 points were one short of a season-high. Fellow freshman Leon Powe had 12 points.

The Ducks led 46-23 a few minutes into the second half. But Cal followed with a 16-3 run to close within to 10 with 13:08 to play.

Oregon rebuilt its lead to 58-43, but the Bears responded again, this time with a 10-1 run to close the gap to 59-53 with under three minutes to play.

Jackson stopped the rally, however, with a layup and the Ducks made 7-of-8 free throws to seal the win.

Oregon went up for good early in the first half, when Jay Anderson scored on consecutive possessions and Jackson finished a fast break with a dunk to cap a 6-0 run for an 11-6 advantage at the 13:34 mark.

Three-pointers by Brandon Lincoln, Davis and Anderson built the Ducks' lead to 32-17, and Jackson made it 37-17 after making 3-of-4 free throws shortly before halftime.

Oregon's 37-20 advantage at the break was its largest halftime lead of the season.
