Cal Defeats ASU, 6-1

The Cal men's tennis team took care of Arizona State, 6-1, to pick up their first Pac-10 victory of the season. The Bears are now 1-1 in conference play and improve to 3-5 overall. The Bears play host to Arizona tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. at the Hellman Tennis Complex.

Wayne Wong picked up his 11th victory of the year and his second on court No. 1, while Balazs Veress won his second straight match. Tyler Browne improved to 9-8 on the season, and Jacob Leivent also won his ninth match.

Together Patrick Briaud and Veress continued their winning ways in doubles, winning 8-6, to improve to 6-3 on the season.
