Cal Falls, 6-1, To Huskies

The Cal men's tennis team fell to the Washington Huskies Saturday at the Hellman Tennis Center in Berkeley, 6-1. The Golden Bears' record moves to 5-10 on the season and 2-3 in conference play. The Bears conclude their five-match homestand Monday against No. 14 Harvard at 1:30 p.m. at Hellman.
The lone Bears' singles victory was on court No. 6 where John Pettit picked up his second victory in as many days. The lefty defeated Nick Weiss in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. It was just Pettit's fourth victory of the season moving his overall record to 4-6.
Pettit also found success in doubles competition with partner Andreas Petersen. The two defeated Pete Scharler and Chris Palmanshofer, 8-6.
