"I'm glad we were able to come back in the second half and finally make some shots against a scrappy Marshall team. Our two freshmen stepped up and made big plays in the second half. They helped our team tremendously."

On Jerome Randle's four-play play that gave Cal a 66-62 lead:
"Jerome's shot was a big shot for us. I give Ayinde (Ubaka) credit for finding the open guy. Jerome has a lot of confidence, and that's a good sign for our team. There was probably no bigger shot for us tonight."

On Ryan Anderson, who had 17 of his 19 points in the second half:
"Ryan struggled in the first half. But in the second half, he slowed down and played with confidence. I told our players after the game that we all need to play with confidence."

On Ayinde Ubaka, who hit a career-high five three-pointers:
I thought Ayinde did for us what he did for us last year. He was much more confident and aggressive on his shot. He attacked the basket and made plays for our team. He probably would have had more assists if we had made more shots."
