No. 14 Cal in Tie For Fourth After 1st Round of Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

SAMMAMISH, Wash. - No. 14 California is in a tie for fourth with Arizona Monday after the first round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at the Sahalee Country Club. The Golden Bears and Wildcats both carded a score of 17-over 305 today.

USC leads the 16-team field at 296, while Arizona State is second at 301, and Stanford is third at 304.

USC's Belen Mozo and Arizona State's Anna Nordqvist share the first-round lead at two-under 70. Cal sophomore Roseanne Niven is tied for fifth at one-over 73 to lead her team. Niven fired three birdies and was at one-under after the front nine.

Cal junior Allison Goodman and freshman Pia Halbig are tied for 12th at 76. Junior Shannon Yocum is tied for 41st at 80, and sophomore Sofia Janer is tied for 51st at 81.

The second round tees off Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. Janer will be the first Bears golfer to open play tomorrow at 11:35 a.m.
