No. 5 Cal Drowns Sonoma State, 15-1

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The No. 5 California women's water polo team defeated Sonoma State, 15-1, on Saturday Afternoon in the Bears' second game of the NorCal Cup. Earlier on Saturday, the Bears defeated CSU Monterey 20-2. Cal is now a perfect 5-0.

For the second game of this weekend's tournament, the Bears silenced the opposition's offense for the entirety of the first half. Cal watched five goals in each of the first and second stanzas. The Sea Wolves scored their lone goal in the third quarter.

The Bears were led by freshman Emily Csikos with four. Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Stephanie Peckham had seven saves while junior Lauren Burke had five. The Bears return to action Sunday at 11:45 a.m. against Pacific.
