STANFORD, Calif. - The California women's tennis completed play at the 2009 Wilson/ITA Northwest Regional Championship Monday, Oct. 26, at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium with players in both the singles and doubles championship matches. But the Golden Bears fell short of each title as No. 4-ranked junior Jana Juricova surrendered her top seed to No. 58-ranked Denise Dy of Washington, 6-3, 6-3, in the singles final.

In doubles play, Cal's No. 2-ranked tandem of junior Mari Andersson and Juricova defeated one Stanford pair in the semifinal with an 8-6 win over Mallory Burdette and Stacy Tan. But the Bears were taken out by Stanford's No. 3-ranked team of Hilary Barte and Lindsay Burdette, 8-3, in the championship final.
