Jamal Boykin earned his second double-double of the season against Kansas on Tuesday night (15 points, 15 rebounds). In addition, the 15 rebounds were a new career high for Boykin. His previous personal best was 14. Boykin earned 12 of those 15 rebounds in the first half.
Patrick Christopher led California in scoring with 21 points, his third straight 20-point outing, fourth of the campaign and the 24th of his career. He finished 9-for-18 from the field.
The Golden Bears shot 13-18 from the free throw line. Jerome Randle, Cal's all-time leading free throw shooter, went 7-for-8 from the charity stripe.
Randle and Theo Robertson also reached double figures. Randle scored 16 points, while Robertson had 13. Robertson went 2-for-3 from three-point distance, and Randle added four assists.
Cal tied their season high with eight steals against the Jayhawks. Gutierrez had four of the eight steals.
