No. 7 Cal Loses to No. 2 UCLA, 11-5

LOS ANGELES - The No. 7 California women's water polo team lost to No. 2 UCLA, 11-5, on Saturday afternoon at the Sunset Canyon Recreation Center. The Golden Bears fall to 17-4 overall and 1-2 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

Junior driver Erin Scully scored the first goal of the game. The Bruins scored nine answered goals to build their lead. Senior two-meter defender Paige Lorenz tacked on a goal in the third period.

Junior driver Meghan Corso scored three goals, all of which came in the fourth quarter.

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Stephanie Peckham notched 10 saves, including penalty shot in the 4th.

Cal returns to action Sunday, continuing play at the Cal Lutheran tournament in Thousand Oaks, Calif. The Bears will play two games - Redlands at 11 a.m. and Pomona-Pitzer at 2:45 p.m., both of which will take place at the Samuelson Aquatics Center on the Cal Lutheran campus.
