No. 7 Cal Goes 4-0 at Tournament With 15-2 Win Over Pomona-Pitzer

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The No. 7 California women's water polo team completed its sweep of the Cal Lutheran tournament with a 15-2 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Sunday afternoon at the Samuelson Aquatics Complex. The Golden Bears went 4-1 on the weekend and now stand at 19-4.

"It was a great weekend of training and competition for us," Cal head coach Richard Corso said. "We look forward to our next [Mountain Pacific Sports Federation] contest next week."

Cal shut out the opposition for the first 16 minutes of play, all the while scoring six first-half goals. Pomona-Pitzer got in the game in the third period with one goal to Cal's five. The Bears scored four times in the final quarter and Pomona-Pitzer put one through to bring the final total to 15-2.

The Bears return home to host two games on March 14 - San Diego State and Maryland.
