The University of California women's water polo team won its second match of Saturday's NorCal Invitational, defeating Sonoma State, 23-3, in a 3:30 p.m. match at Spieker Aquatics Complex. The Golden Bears improved to 3-0 behind five goals from sophomore Lauren Barron, all in the third period. Cal had 11 different players score, with Meghan Corso, Dana Ochsner and Kirsten Mase chipping in three goals apiece.
In a morning match, the Bears had defeated Cal State Monterey Bay, 27-4. Barron was also Cal's leading scorer in that match with five goals. The Bears continue action with a 4:45 p.m. match versus UC Davis and a 7:15 p.m. match versus Santa Clara.
