SUNNYVALE - Maxime Chevee finished ninth with a time of 24:13.2 over 8000 meters to lead four members of the Cal men's cross country team who competed in the Bronco Invitational Saturday morning at Baylands Regional Park in Sunnyvale.

Jon Peterson of UC Davis claimed individual honors in 23:45.1. In addition to Chevee, Jordan Locklear was 70th in 25:06.9, Renaud Poizat 91st in 25:28.6 and J.J. Solorzano 124th in 26:06.9.

Because the Bears had only four runners in the race - the majority of the squad traveled to Indiana for the Pre-NCAA Invitational - they did not figure into the team standings.
