No. 3 Cal Water Polo Tops Redlands, 15-5

DAVIS, CALIF. -

The No. 3-ranked California men's water polo team jumped out to a 11-2 lead after two quarters and went on to defeat Redlands, 15-5, in a morning match at the Aggie Shootout at the Schaal Aquatics Center in Davis. The Golden Bears (6-1) were led by three goals apiece by junior Travis Bickham and sophomore Marin Balarin.

Sophomore Mason Cox and freshmen Collin Smith and Perry Short added two goals apiece for Cal. Redshirt freshman goalie Michael Boggan registered three saves.

The Bears, who outscored Redlands 6-1 in the first period and 5-1 in the second period, will next take on host UC Davis Saturday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. In Cal's season-opener on Sept. 4 at Spieker Aquatics Complex, the Bears had defeated the Aggies, 14-4.
