Lee, Roessler Lead Bears in Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -

Nicola Roessler and Joanne Lee are the top Bears after the second round of the Mercedes-Benz/Pac-12 Challenge in Knoxville, Tenn. The No. 16 California Golden Bears will go into Sunday's final round in a tie for 13th place.

Seniors Joanne Lee and Emily Childs had the lowest Cal scores in Saturday's second-round action at the par-72, 6,447-yard course at Houlston Hills Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn., each shooting a 75. Lee, who is tied with sophomore Nicola Roessler with a two-day total of 148, is currently tied for 29th place in a field that features the top golfing talent in the country. Alabama's Stephanie Meadow leads the field with a 139.

In the team competition, Alabama moved into the lead, taking a five-stroke lead over first-day leader UCLA.

The tournament will conclude on Sunday with the field going off on a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
