Three members of the No. 15 California Golden Bear women's golf team finished in the top-10 at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Sammamish, Wash. The tournament was held at the par-72, 6,003-yard Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash.

The Golden Bears entered the final round in a tie for first place with fellow Pac-12 school, Colorado. The Buffaloes shot a final round 301 and ended with a total 896 to pull away from the Bears, who fell four shots back with a final round 305. The Bears finished the tournament, which they had won each of the last two years, in a tie for third place.

Senior Emily Childs led the Bears in the third round, shooting a 75 (+3) to finish in a tie for sixth place at +8 overall. Madeline Shiels of Nebraska won the individual medalist honors, finishing at two-under for the tournament. Senior Joanne Lee finished a stroke ahead of Childs, claiming fifth place at +7. Sophomore Nicola Roessler was a stroke behind Childs, tying for eighth place at +9.

"We did not get it done coming down the stretch," said head coach Nancy McDaniel. "We clearly need to work it out before the SEC/Pac-12 Challenge. Our short game needs some attention."

The Bears will be back in Tennessee in two weeks, playing in the SEC/Pac-12 Challenge Oct. 21-23, in Knoxville.
