SAN DIEGO - Live Stats

All four boats on the second-ranked California men's crew advanced to Sunday's final at the 38th annual San Diego Crew Classic Saturday morning in San Diego. The meet kicked off the 2011 campaign for the Golden Bears, as well.

The two-time defending Copley Cup champion Bears' varsity 8+ eased to a 10-second victory in heat A of the Copley Cup prelims, 5:49.0 to second-place Oregon State's 5:59.86.

Cal's freshman 8+ also enjoyed a commanding victory in its heat, topping second-place San Diego, 5:58.0-6:24.71. The Bears' first junior varsity 8+ also won its head with a time of 6:03.80, while their second junior varsity 8+ crossed the finish line in second (6:13.88).

The Bears will conclude its season-opening meet with the grand finals Sunday morning.
