Bears Place Third at MPSF Championships

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - At the annual conference meet, the No. 3 California men's gymnastics team finished in third place behind No. 2 Stanford, which took the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation title, and No. 1 Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon.
The Cardinal, which the Golden Bears defeated in the first meet of the season, tallied a 362.250 to take home the conference championship while the Sooners scored 360.700. Cal notched a 356.050 to place ahead of Nebraska (346.500) and Air Force (344.800).
On floor, Donothan Bailey tied for sixth overall to pace the Bears with a 15.100. Glen Ishino tied for eighth with a 15.000. Bryan del Castillo finished in a tie for 12th with a 14.850.
Pommel horse saw Ishino take second place of all competitors with a 14.650. The Bears took control of the event, taking home third - Daniel Geri (14.500) - second - Donothan Bailey (14.450) - and sixth - Kyle Bunthuwong (14.300).
Steven Lacombe tied for third with Stanford's Jordan Nolff on rings with a 15.350. Tying for 12th was Jeffrey Langenstein 14.750. Kyle Bunthuwong took 15th, scoring 14.600.
On parallel bars, Ishino was first of the Bears and took second overall with his 15.300 followed by del Castillo in third with a 15.250. Geri was fifth (15.100) and Bailey tied for eighth (14.850).
High bar saw del Castillo take third, scoring a 15.050.
In the all-around, Bailey was sixth at 87.500.
