SAN DIEGO - Full Results

For the third consecutive season, the second-ranked California men's crew captured the Copley Cup with a three-second victory over Stanford in the grand final Sunday at the San Diego Crew Classic. It was one of three victories on the day for the Golden Bears.

The Bears just beat the Cardinal to the finish line with a time of 5:54.9 to Stanford's 5:57.75. Pac-10 foe Oregon State also competed in the final, finishing fourth.

In the junior varsity grand final, the Bears had two boats place in the top three. The Cal A junior varsity 8+ took first at 6:04.7, while the Cal B boat came in third (6:13.9). The Stanford JV boat was sandwiched between the two Cal boats.

Cal's third win on the day came in the freshman 8+. The Bears enjoyed a dominating victory with a time of 6:06.0 to second-place OCC A's 6:18.0.

The Bears also competed in the Men's Open, taking second place with a time of 6:17.4.

Cal has next week off before returning to Redwood Shores on April 16 for the Stanford Invitational.
