Final Results 
BERKELEY - The California women's gymnastics team recorded its highest score since 2007 with a 194.725 against No. 12 Stanford Sunday afternoon in front of 1,050 fans inside Haas Pavilion. The Cardinal took first place in the meet with a score of 196.175.
The Bears' team score was their highest since a mark of 196.500 recorded on March 23, 2007 at UC Davis. It is also the first time since the 2007 season that Cal has scored above a 194.000 in a meet on multiple occasions. The Bears scored a 194.050 at Arizona State on Jan. 20.
"It was a great day for Cal Women's Gymnastics," said head coach Danna Durante. "We set a goal in front of the team this week and they worked hard to reach that goal. Today, they not only reached it but surpassed it by a great margin. The exciting part is that there is still room for us to improve. Today we competed like we've been training."
California scored its highest mark of the season on the balance beam with a score of 48.725. Cal also posted a 48.725 on the uneven bars, to go along with a season-high 48.650 in the floor exercise and a 48.625 in the vault.
Junior Mariesah Pierce scored a 9.825 to finish a close second to Stanford's Pauline Hanset (9.850) in the floor exercise. Sophomore Alicia Asturias scored a season-best 9.775 to place fourth overall and senior Alex Leggitt and sophomore Lina Nilsson tied for fifth place with season-best marks of 9.725.
Junior Nicolette Lew paced the Bears on the beam with a career-best tying mark of 9.850 to place third overall in the event. Leggitt was right behind in fourth place with a season-best mark of 9.800. Pierce and freshman Crystal Paz tied for sixth place with a score of 9.750. The score was a season-high for Paz. Stanford's Ivana Hong and Shona Morgan tied for the beam title with a score of 9.900.
Pierce and junior Madisyn O'Brien tied for third place to lead the Bears in the vault with a score of 9.800 in the event. Sophomore Dallas Crawford scored a 9.725 to place seventh overall, while junior Arla Rosenzweig scored a season-high 9.675 to finish ninth in the event. Nicole Dayton and Hong took first and second place, respectively, for the Cardinal with scores of 9.875 and 9.825 in the vault.
Stanford took the top five spots on the bars, led by Nicole Pechanec's event-winning score of 9.925. O'Brien led the Bears on the bars with a score of 9.800 to tie for sixth place overall. Crawford and junior Stina Olivere posted a 9.775 to tie for eighth place in the event.
Pierce scored a 38.500 to place second in the all-around. Ashley Morgan captured the all-around title with a score of 39.175.
The women competed along with the Cal men's team in Sunday's meet in front of a loud and energetic crowd inside Haas Pavilion.
"The energy in Haas was amazing with the men and women competing at the same time," Durante said. "It was truly an exciting meet for the Bears all the way around!"
Cal will be on the road for its next four meets, beginning with a trip to Oregon State this Friday at 7 p.m.
