Final Results

SALT LAKE CITY- The California women's gymnastics team scored a 193.525 to place eighth at the Pac-12 Championships inside the Hunstman Center on the University of Utah campus Saturday. UCLA took home the conference title with a score of 197.425, while the host Utes finished second with a mark of 197.375.

"I think based on how we have been up and down this year, we had a lot we are coming back from," said California head coach Danna Durante. "The program was dropped last year and we came back. I am proud of how we finished off. I am really proud of how we fought today. We have been trying to teach them how to be competitors and they showed some of that today. We still have a long way to go, but our girls are fighters, and I am proud of where we are. I am looking forward to already getting back in the gym and training for next season."

The Golden Bears began the day on the balance beam, scoring a 48.150 in the event. Junior Madisyn O'Brien paced Cal with a mark of 9.725 to place 29th in the event. Junior Nicollete Lew and sophomore Alicia Asturias each posted a score of 9.625 to tie for 34th. UCLA's Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs scored a 9.975 on the balance beam to take home the event title.

Cal recorded its third-highest score of the season in the floor exercise with a mark of 48.425 in the event. O'Brien led the way with a career-best tying mark of 9.775 to tie for 29th overall, while senior Alexandra Leggitt and Asturias each scored a 9.750. Stanford's Ashley Morgan took top honors in the floor exercise with a mark of 9.950.

O'Brien led the Bears to a team total of 48.050 on the vault with a score of 9.775 to tie for 29th in the event, while sophomore Dallas Crawford posted a score of 9.725 to place 36th and junior Chelsea Spomer finished with a score of 9.700 to place 40th. Stanford's Ivana Hong scored a 9.950 to win the event.

Cal finished the competition on the uneven bars where Crawford tied her season-high score with a 9.875 to lead Cal to a score of 48.900 in the event. The sophomore led all competitors in the event through the opening session and placed ninth overall. Asturias and junior Stina Olivere scored a 9.775 on the bars to tie for 28th overall, while O'Brien finished with a score of 9.750 to tie for 34th. Utah's Georgia Dabritz scored a 9.950 in the event to capture the title.

O'Brien scored a 39.025 in the all-around to place ninth overall. Utah's Corrie Lothrop took home the all-around crown with a score of 39.625.

Cal will await for NCAA Regional selections to be announced in the next couple of days.
