Lew, O'Brien Perform At NCAA Gymnastics Regionals

SEATTLE- Juniors Madisyn O'Brien and Nicolette Lew each represented California at the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Regionals Saturday afternoon inside Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.
O'Brien competed in the all-around on Saturday, recording a score of 38.750 to place 14th overall in the event that featured some of the top gymnasts from around the nation, including Alabama's, LSU's, Washington's, Arizona's, Iowa's and Central Michigan's full squads. Geralen Stack-Eaton of Alabama captured the all-around with a score of 39.400.
O'Brien's top performance came on the bars, where the junior scored a 9.850 to place fourth overall in the event. Ashley Sledge and Stack-Eaton of Alabama tied for the top spot on the bars with a 9.900.
O'Brien tied for 18th on the vault with a 9.800, placed 34th in the floor exercise with a mark of 9.625 and finished 36th on the balance beam with a score of 9.475.
Lew registered a score of 9.275 to finish 37th on the balance beam in her lone event on Saturday.
Alabama won the NCAA Seattle Regional with a team score of 197.025.
O'Brien's and Lew's performance on Saturday marked the final competition for Cal gymnasts this season.
