Has been a key performer and a team leader for the Bears the past three seasons, tallying 94 goals...has outstanding anticipation on defense and offensively has an all-around attack with the ability to play both driver and two-meter...was the Bears top freshman recruit in 1998...an extremely smart and poised player...was the MVP of this past summer's Senior Nationals, helping lead the Golden Bear Gold team to the Senior National title...AS A JUNIOR (2000): Was third on the team in scoring with 37 goals and led the Bears in scoring in six matches...scored four goals during the National Championship, including a goal versus Stanford in the third-place match...was named second team All-American, second team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, first team All-National Tournament and first team MPSF Tournament...AS A SOPHOMORE (1999): Was the team's third-leading scorer with 34 goals...led Cal in scoring in six different matches, including scoring two goals in a 6-5 victory Feb. 26 at USC, three goals in a 10-9 overtime victory Mar. 20 versus UCLA and three goals in a 9-8 overtime victory versus San Diego State Apr. 10 in the first round of the MPSF Tournament...also had a team-high four goals Apr. 10 against Pacific...was named Honorable Mention All-America, second team MPSF Tournament, Honorable Mention All-MPSF and second team All-National Tournament...AS A FRESHMAN (1998): Was fourth on the team in scoring with 23 goals and had eight goals during the four matches at the National Qualifying Tournament...led Cal with three goals in a 7-1 victory over UC Santa Barbara...HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: At Menlo-Atherton High School was a second team All-American, Central Coast Section MVP and two-time Santa Clara Valley Athletic League MVP in water polo, helping lead her team to two-straight Central Coast Section Championships...as a senior scored 139 goals, including 16 goals in one match...also lettered four years in swimming were she was a four-time All-Peninsula Athletic League selection, two-time team MVP and high school All-American in the 200 free relay...was a standout in basketball as well, playing two years of varsity and earning team MVP and second team All-PAL honors as a senior...was named Menlo-Atherton Athlete of the Year in 1997...graduated first in her class...was recruited by Stanford, UCLA and UC Davis before selecting Cal...majoring in bio engineering...parents are Larry and Roberta Irwin...born August 5, 1979 in Stanford, CA.
