Hagy leads the way with four-under par 66 that has him in third place and is best NCAA Championship round by Cal player since 2004.
An All-American and clearly one of the best players in the country. Great ball striker, solid short game and excellent putter. As the No. 1 player and team captain of the Golden Bears, he will carry a big leadership load with such a young team. His tremendous final round 69 the last day of the 2004 NCAA Championship was instrumental in the team's victory and will forever be one of the great rounds in Cal Golf history...
FALL 2004: Played in 14 rounds with a 73.1 scoring average...was the Bears' top finisher in two of the team's four events...best finish was tying for 12th at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational (70-72-73 - 215, +2)...placed 20th at the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic (69-71-79 - 219, +6)...
AS A JUNIOR: Was an honorable mention All-American and a second team All-Pac-10 selection...tied teammate Peter Tomasulo for 10th place at the NCAA Championships, shooting a 65-71-77-69 - 282 (+2)...shot an impressive five under par 65 in the NCAA Championship first round...finished second on the team with a 72.3 scoring average on the year...finished tied for 33rd at the 2004 NCAA West Regional with a score of 222 (76-69-77)...placed 32nd at Pac-10 Championships with a score of 303 over four days... shot a 66 in the first round of the Western Intercollegiate, helping Cal place second as a team...tied with teammate Jesse Ruda for ninth place at the U.S. Intercollegiate with a score of 71-69-72 - 212 (-1), helping the team to a third-place finish...owned seven Top 20 showings, including four in the Top 10 - including a victory in the season opener at the Mid-Pines Intercollegiate (64-67-71 - 202, lowest 54-hole total in Cal golf history)... finished tied for 20th at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational (69-70-74 - 213), but his first two rounds helped keep the Bears in position for eventual team championship...
AS A SOPHOMORE: Best spring finish was a tie for 26th (71-71-74 - 216) at John Burns Invitational...competed in all 15 fall rounds, averaging 73.5...best finish was at the Mid-Pines Intercollegiate where he tied for 10th (70-73-74 - 217)...
AS A FRESHMAN: One of three players to play in all 13 tournaments...posted a 74.9 scoring average in 40 rounds...tied for 16th at the NCAA West Regionals (79-70-69 - 218)...led team in driving accuracy (79 percent) during the fall season....best fall finish came at Idaho Vandal Fall Classic where he shot 3-over (75-70-71 - 216) and placed tied for 22nd...
HIGH SCHOOL/AMATEUR: In the summer 2004 at the U.S. Amateur qualifier shot 145, finishing second and qualified for the U.S. Amateur at Winged Foot. Shot 148 in medal play at U.S. Amateur, advancing to match play where he was seeded 22nd (of 64), winning his first match 3-2 before losing in the round of 32.
