Kastler Takes 8th on 3-meter Board at Texas Invite

AUSTIN, Texas – Junior Anne Kastler led four Cal divers on the first day of the Texas Diving Invitational with an eighth-place finish on the 3-meter board Thursday.

Kastler tallied 278.70 points in the finals after she reached the top eight during morning qualifying. The Bears just missed adding more divers to the night session as Sara-Lina Boushakra and Eleanor Smart ranked ninth and 10th, respectively, in prelims. Hayden Tavoda was 13th overall in the field of 26.

Emma Ivory-Ganja of Texas was the runaway winner with 395.40 points.

Competition continues Friday on the 1-meter board, with platform set for Saturday. Finals each day will air live on the Longhorn Network and fans can follow along with online results at divemeets.comEight schools are participating in the meet – Cal, Texas, Hawaii, Arizona State, TCU, Houston, Wyoming and Kansas.
