DAVIS, CALIF. – Again led by the scoring of junior Colin Mulcahy, No. 3 Cal cruised to a 17-7 win over Cal Baptist Saturday during the Golden Bears' opening match of the Aggie Shootout in Davis. Mulcahy, a two-time honorable mention All-American, scored a career-high six goals as Kirk Everist's squad improved to 10-1. On Friday, Mulcahy had paced Cal with three goals with a 19-5 Navy at Spieker Aquatics Complex.

The Bears next play Whittier in a 6:30 p.m. match Saturday in Davis. Cal will face Occidental and Chapman on Sunday during the Aggie Shootout.

Other top performances for the Bears versus Cal Baptist were senior Aleksa Saponjic tallying five goals and senior Jon Sibley recording nine saves. Senior Matt Russell ended with a team-high four steals.

Following the Aggie Shootout, Cal will return to MSPF league play when it travels to Pacific on Friday, Oct. 3 for a 7 p.m. match in Stockton.
