California-Arizona Postgame Notes

  • With the 73-50 victory, Arizona leads the series over Cal, 57-30. UA improved to 18-2 (6-1 Pac-12), while the Bears are now 11-9 (1-6).
  • Attendance for the game was 11,877, Cal's second sellout of the season (also Cal-Wisconsin Dec. 22).
  • With a block of Stanley Johnson with 2:47 to go, David Kravish recorded his 207th career block, tying Michael Stewart (1994-97) for Cal's all-time record. The total also ranks fifth in Pac-12 history.
  • Kravish finished with 16 points – his highest total since a career-high 21 vs. Washington on Jan. 2. The output his increased his career total to 1,110, which ranks 33rd in school history. Just ahead of him is Andy Wolfe, who had 1,112 points from 1946-48.
  • With 16 points and 11 rebounds, Kravish also posted his third double-double of the year. He now has 827 boards as a Golden Bear, which ranks sixth all-time at the school.
  • Jordan Mathews has scored in double figures in all seven Pac-12 games after contributing 16 points vs. Arizona. He is averaging a team-leading 18.9 ppg during that span.
  • Cal went with the same starting lineup for the second straight game – Jabari Bird, David Kravish, Jordan Mathews, Dwight Tarwater and Tyrone Wallace.
  • After starting the game shooting 3-for-16, the Bears made their next 5 consecutive shots and took a 17-15 lead on a David Kravish layup with 3:57 left in the first half.
