California-Washington State Postgame Notes
Cal fell to Washington State, 69-66. The Bears' last lost to the Cougars at home was 70-49 on Feb. 28, 2008.
David Kravish recorded the 200th block of his Cal career with 15:13 left in the first half. He ranks sixth in Pac-12 history and second on the Cal all-time chart. With two blocks against WSU, he now has 201. Next up on both lists is former Golden Bear Michael Stewart, who had 207 blocks from 1994-97.
Kravish added six points to move up on spot to 37th on Cal's all-time list, now with 1,058. On Sunday, he passed Amit Tamir (1,055, 2002-04).
In addition, Kravish grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds for the third game in a row.
With 16 points, Tyrone Wallace extended his streak of scoring in double figures to all 15 games this year. He has tallied at least 16 points in 12 consecutive games.
Jordan Mathews followed up his 31-point effort vs. Washington Friday with 24 points against Washington State. He also tied his career high with 7 rebounds.
Mathews was 4-for-8 from behind the arc. Over his past four games, he is 13-for-24 from three-point range.
The Bears were down, 24-20, at the half, the seventh time in their last eight games they have trailed at the break. Although they lost today, the Bears still won four of those contests (Nevada, Wyoming, Princeton and Washington).
Kingsley Okoroh tied his career high with 2 blocked shots less than three minutes into the game.
Sam Singer made his first three-pointer since the Dec. 7 Nevada game.
