Williams Wins Sixth Pac-12 Freshman of the Week Award

SAN FRANCISCO – For the sixth time this season, Cal women's gymnastics freshman Toni-Ann Williams is the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Utah's Georgia Dabritz was voted Gymnast of the Week and Stanford's Elizabeth Price won Specialist of the Week.

During a historic afternoon that saw the No. 20 California women's gymnastics team shatter long-standing program records, Williams helped spark the Bears to victory Sunday against UC Davis. She earned her second perfect 10.0 of the season, turned in the program's fourth-highest all around-score (39.625) and claimed four titles en route to Cal setting a program-record 197.325.

Williams anchored vault, where she logged a 10.0 on the event for the second time this season and posted just the third 10.0 in Cal history to lead the Bears to a program-record 49.500. She is now the only Cal gymnast to earn two 10.0s on any event. On bars, she set a career-high 9.95, and then she added to the night's haul by matching her personal-best 9.975 on floor. Williams is the only gymnast to earn a 9.975 on floor in school history, marking the second time she has earned the score this season. Her scores also helped Cal to its second-highest bars total and highest floor total in school history. Williams was the vault, bars, floor and all-around champion.

This is her sixth Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honor, which is more than any gymnast in the Pac-12 since the award was introduced in 2013.

The Randallstown, Md. product is currently ranked second in the country on vault (9.95 Regional Qualifying Score), fourth on floor (9.94 RQS), and 17th all-around (39.303 RQS).

Cal wraps up its regular-season slate in Cedar City, Utah on Friday, March 13 in a tri meet with Southern Utah and Boise State beginning at 6 p.m. PT
